Entomo Labs signs agreement to acquire the Asia, Middle East, and Africa (AMEA) operations of Dedalus, strengthening its digital health offering

Kuala Lumpur, 23-Jul-2025 – entomo labs, a leading enterprise software company enabling large-scale digital transformation across public health and citizen services, today announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire the Asia, Middle East, and Africa (AMEA) operations of Dedalus, the region’s leading Hospital Information System (HIS) provider. Dedalus (www.dedalus.com) is a global leader in healthcare software, driving digital transformation across care delivery and health systems worldwide.

The agreement for this strategic acquisition comes at a pivotal time, as countries across the region ramp up efforts to build Digital Public Infrastructure for Health (DPI- H) — focusing on open standards, patient-centric care, and interoperable platforms. By joining forces, entomo labs and Dedalus AMEA will create a unified, future-ready offering that serves both public health and provider health networks.

entomo labs has successfully delivered digital platforms for public health service delivery, citizen engagement, and interoperability stacks across multiple countries. This acquisition, once completed, significantly strengthens entomo labs’ ability to deliver end-to-end digital health platforms, bringing together Dedalus AMEA’s clinical expertise and market leadership in provider systems with entomo labs’ agile, scalable technologies.

“Dedalus has built an exceptional foundation in hospital information systems, with deep clinical and operational insight,” said Ravee Ramamoothie, Group CEO of entomo labs. “By combining our strengths, we are uniquely positioned to accelerate digital transformation across the continuum of care — from citizen to hospitals — and deliver measurable improvements in patient outcomes and experience.”

“Healthcare today is at a pivotal moment—much like financial services were a decade ago. The convergence of progressive policy, rising patient expectations, and a digitally ready ecosystem is setting the stage for a radical transformation in how health services are delivered and experienced. This shift will not only elevate patient satisfaction but also improve health outcomes at scale. We’re incredibly excited about the opportunity this brings to accelerate that transformation together with Dedalus AMEA.” said Naveen Deshpande, Co-founder & Head of Healthcare, entomo labs.

With the signing of this agreement, entomo labs expands its reach in the provider segment, offering governments, health systems, and hospitals a comprehensive platform that supports integrated care, real-time data exchange, and enhanced decision-making.

“This marks an exciting new chapter for us,” said Jegatheswaren Ponnudurai, General Manager – Dedalus Asia. “Joining forces with entomo labs gives us a broader platform to scale our impact across Asia. With our clinical depth and entomo labs’ proven capabilities in digital public infrastructure, we’re confident this collaboration will accelerate the delivery of smarter, more connected healthcare for the region.”

“The Middle East and Africa are on the cusp of a digital health transformation,” said David Hatton, Services Director – Dedalus MEA. “entomo labs’ track record in enabling large-scale health and citizen services aligns perfectly with our mission. We’re thrilled to bring our expertise into the entomo labs ecosystem and jointly deliver solutions that truly empower healthcare systems and patients alike.”

The planned integration of teams and technologies will begin immediately, with a shared focus on interoperability, user experience, and accelerating value delivery across public and private healthcare settings.
